William Shakespeare: Words, Words, Words
University center | Monday, March 24 • 1pm
Instructor: David Schroeder • Art, Film, Music and Theater
William Shakespeare stands at the apex of English literature, but he presents at best a complex series of images – some controversial. In this class, David Schroeder will peer into the man Shakespeare actually was, to illustrate how his craft evolved through his own personal development as a playwright. For example, some earlier plays can be seen as rough drafts of much later and more sophisticated plays. Shakespeare’s insightful knowledge of the human condition and his skill at presenting variations upon it form a priceless legacy for all to appreciate and enjoy. This is a class not to be missed!
